This deletes every block, arrow and piece of writing.
Add a journal entry
If the program remembers this, the choice leads somewhere else:
If the reader have , lead to..
Pick up to 10 extra backgrounds for the space around the page. The reader can choose between them in Book Mode.
Your story is a bunch of blocks joined by arrows.
Every block is one page. An arrow is where the reader can go next.
Two arrows out of a block? Now the reader has to choose. Muahaha.
On Windows, use Ctrl instead of ⌘. Esc closes most things, including this.
The story's brain
Makes the story keep track of a number or a word. You can Change it (add or take away) or Set it to something.
Use it to count gold, lives, friends, or how many times the reader insulted the dragon.
The reader's pockets
Gives the reader an item, or takes it away. They can see everything they carry at the top of the page.
Losing the sandwich is a valid plot twist. A tragic one.
The diary
The place where you can make people write down their emotional problems and anger issues.
(OK, technically you write the entries and the reader collects them in their Journal tab. Still counts.)
The big red reset button
When the reader lands on this block: poof. Everything they remembered, carried and wrote down is gone.
Great for time travel, bad dreams, and getting hit on the head with a frying pan.
The plot-twist machine
(For choices and Continue buttons.) The same button leads somewhere different depending on what the reader remembers or has in their pockets.
Has the key? Treasure. No key? The door laughs at you. You get a yellow-green arrow for the "otherwise" way.
